Water pump

I have a new water pump and there is a threaded hole in it. What is this for and what am i supposed to put in it? My old one had the hole but it wasn't threaded just blanked off.

that will be for the oil cooler, which by the sounds of it, you dont have?

obviously im guessing blind, as i cant see your picture!

some new ones are dual purpose and come with a blank and a pipe you fit whichever you need. If pipe is bonded into casting then a sort piece of hose with a suitable bung in the end and jubilees will do the job. If the pipe is a screw fit you can remove and fit a blank instead.
