Hi Alan,
This is a common problem
I think from one time to another we all have it

Check the spade connection on the sensor, they get very dirty and work loose.
If you earth it out the gauge should flash and the needle rise
If this is ok try it again on the sensor with the engine running warm.
if not
Check and clean the multi connection on the back of the dash pod and clean the 3 connections on the gauge.

Try it again
If that hasnt worked either your gauge is shot at or there is a break along the wire.
To check which one run a length of wire from sensor and attach directly to the clock.

Have fun Kris

PS I think thats all but the great thing is if I have missed something someonenelse will step up to the mark
Its not broke? fiddle with it until it is, then you can fix it
Oh and the name is pronounced CRISIS

One now working.... :D

Short-wired wires & gauge sprang into life. Fitted a new(ish) sender from an old thermostat that I've had knocking around shed for years.

Hey-presto it lives! :D
Got soaked by about a pint of anti-freeze in the process!! :x
