LPG advise - who uses it ? whats it run like ?
OK - now before i'm flamed and told to do a search - I have - and ive got some thoughts already but:
a mate was thinking of getting a conversion in his 1.9 leisuredrive, but a neighbour (who apparantly used to service a fleet of gas using vehicles) warned him that LPG burns hotter and can over time burn valves and cause other engine damage.
I'm soon to be collecting a 2.1 multivan and was thinking of having it converted but am now wary if the above is correct.
can any LPG users please post comments - both good and bad to help make me mind up
if i go for it - i will be using gasure as they seem to be the biz when it comes to dubs.......will they come out to install ? there's probably 2 vans in close proximity they could do together if so
cheers chaps

Hello....
I have 3 25's all running LPG.
No probs with the engines as yet in the manner you suggest in your post.
Couldn't afford to run the vans without the LPG.
Steve at gasure is the best person to speak to. Used to have a mobile fitter, but he has retired due to ill health. Trip to Steve now, I fear.

i have been running on LPG since 2003, and have covered over 80,000 miles in that time, no problems caused by LPG what so ever.
LPG does run slightly hotter, and inline engines do need a top end lube in some cases, boxer engines however, love it.
your man may have looked after LPG powered engines, but they were not WBX ones were they.
you will find the only people on here who wont give LPG the thumbs up are those that cant use it, because they made a duff choice of engine.
one thing is for sure, you can buy twice as much LPG for the price of a litre of petrol!

I'm new to LPG, only got converted a few months back so cant really talk about the long term use. All I can say is my van (19.00 D.G) had a bad drink problem.....it is now cured. Even tho people told me that I would get twice as many miles on LPG I'm pleased to say it's true.
I used Gasure and like many peeps on this site I cant recommend him enough (and his dad) top blokes.
Starting on cold is a bit of an art form but that said Steve @ gasure has yet to give it the first running in service.

any more - tbh - i think it'll be a goer anyway......pity steve cant fit me in before RTTS...looks like i'll just have to bend over, lube up and get shafted by petrol prices

The float can get holed and the jets blocked if not used for long periods and neither of these faults will affect running on LPG. The Sierra runs purely on lpg because I choose to run it like that for daily commuting and the vehicle is now coming to the end of its useful life. The T25 Pierburg is costly to repair and the T25 is used for holidays in Europe where LPG can be more difficult to get - essential therefore that the Petrol system is kept in good condition. Elementary my dear Sherlock.

that is one of the best things about the WBX on LPG, you can have more power on LPG than petrol if you want it set up that way, i have mine so its the same on LPG or petrol, you have the choice how you set it up, power v econ
smoother and cheaper on LPG, its the way to go.

Where ? The vast majority of service stations in Belgium and Holland have gas, every other service station in France and I'm lead to believe Eastern Europe is really good for gas.
Germany and Austria not so good and Denmark non-existant so I believe.
