Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a van that didn't need all that work ?

may I suggest you get a more modern and reliable van.
most of these vans are over twenty years old and require a lot of maintenance and money spent.
I hope you have an understanding mechanic and a six figure bank balance
£4000 will not guarantee a trouble free T25
unless you are willing to learn of course

Look at the buying guide in the Wiki, buy on bodywork, you could easily spend another 1000-2000 putting this van right, be patient and keep your fingers in many pies Gumtree, Ebay etc and look at lots of vans then you will see they all tend to rot in the same places, be wary of shiny paint could be a fill and blowover tart up job
