LLE badges and stickers

Post by TimC »

My '92 LLE is going in for some major bodywork TLC at LR Superbeetles, and I need to source replacement badges and stickers. German Ebay was recommended, but nothing's turned up. I can't work out from the LLE Kartei site whether and where they might be available (though I've attempted to ask there too!). Has anyone here tried to get any made, or found a source of them?

Waiting for a reply from LLE Kartei. Baxter doesn't do the LLE ones, unfortunately!

How do you know?
You've not asked.
If you did ask I would have said before you remove your old ones, take a rubbing of them and send them to me and I will copy them for you.
As for the domed front one, I do have the technology but I need to do a batch as I need to use a full tube of the doming fluid, so that means making loads.
It can be done.

Oops, sorry Simon! I visited your website and saw they weren't listed, and took that at face value. If you can do them, that would be great - though I'd have problems with the tailgate one, as it's been painted over in the past!

After a closer look at LLE Kartei, it may well be that they can do the gel badge at the front if I need it. It seems to be attached by an adhesive strip, so we may be able to remove it without damage. The others I'm not sure about, but if they don't have them available I'll certainly take your advice; I assume by a 'rubbing' you mean like we used to do at primary school?! I'd have to work at getting it accurate enough, though of course I'd supply as many photographs as you needed as well.

Piece of clean A4 and a pencil, and give it a good old primary school grave stone rub!
Scan it, mail it to sales@brickwerks.co.uk and in a week or so i should be able to turn around a sticker for you.

Thanks Simon. Fortunately, it seems the original badges are indeed available from LLE Kartei - though they're not cheap! For the sake of keeping things as stock as possible, I'll go there - but I may well get you to do some for me as a back up.
