Hi all,
Purchased some old Audi Ronals alloy wheels for my 1989 T25. It's currently running the standard 185/R14 steel wheels. The fella I bought them off is a genuine type, who surfs with me now and then, but failed to mention the spacers/long studs required for fitting. Later recommended Steve at Brickwerks would sort me out. Checked his site and it looks good, but does anyone know:
1. how many spacers do I need - all 4 wheels, or just the rears?
2. size of spacers - 3mm, 6mm, 20mm or 40mm?
I guess the number of spacers will dictate the number of longer studs required (5 per wheel), but:
3. are the studs easily removed/fitted once the wheel is off?
Sorry for all the questions guys n gals, but you've always come through for me in the past and I'm a complete kook when it comes to anything mechanical. I was thinking about just getting 2 spacers (10 long studs) for the rears only and using the original studs without spacers on the front wheels.

Hi,
All the info. is on the Brickard website but it is down at the mo.
I'll post the link when it is back up-if I remember
Spacers needed will depend on the ET of your wheels(should be stamped on the back of the wheel.)It isn't clear from your post if you realise spacers and longer studs are two different things? You may or may not need spacers, but you will need longer studs/bolts.look on the wheels and post up the ET.
If they haven't been on a T25 in the past you will need to have the center bores opened up on the two fronts I think.Better to have all 4 done so you can swap wheels front to back. Also worth converting to studs on the front. You won't get away with the original bolts in any case and you will need longer ones if you don't go for the stud conversion.
Not difficult to fit longer rear studs, but not that straight forward either if you are a complete kook when it comes to anything mechanical.
You will also need to be carefull with the load rating on the tyres too, especialy the back if the have come from a car.
I'll post the links tonight and then after a little light reading, all should become clear

Thanks, I'd appreciate that. I picked them up at the Wales VW Fest last summer and they came off a T25; owner upgraded to some well smart Merc alloys.
I'll post up the ET when I check my spare wheel, tonight.
I'm aware of the difference between spacers, long studs and bolts, having checked some of the kit on the brickwerks.co.uk website shop. I want to get it right and safe, as the kids regularly travel with me.

Don't forget you will need diferent wheel nuts and(certainly where we live)
locking nuts as well
and I'll post the link for tyre load ratings up when the forum is back on line.
Did they come with tyres?
Any questions just ask-fitted lots of alloys over the years.-But none to ours yet
Good luck
