Pop top struts

Post by meggles »

I posted a while ago with some pics asking about identifying a roof so I could get some hydraulic struts. It is a solid sided one. Anyway, the owner is asking again. I don't have the pics now! Does anyone know if they have to be an exact match or would any struts fit?
If I am asking a stoopid question sorry  I just never worked on pop tops before.

Thanks Andy,
The problems I, and the owner, have is that the badges/stickers/emblems which identify the roof are no longer in existence, or are painted over!

Meggles,

if you can get the struts off.....measure them for replacemet struts. I found a set of heavy duty adjustable struts on e-bay.....alternatively, send the original struts off to a company and have them re-gassed. (not guaranteed that they will be able to, but a gas strut company might be able to match them.

cheers
