Pop top struts

I posted a while ago with some pics asking about identifying a roof so I could get some hydraulic struts. It is a solid sided one. Anyway, the owner is asking again. I don't have the pics now! Does anyone know if they have to be an exact match or would any struts fit?
If I am asking a stoopid question sorry I just never worked on pop tops before.
