WHICH BULB?

Post by budbombpipe »

Hi, i need a bulb that fits inside the headlight switch on the dash, the switch has a dimmer wheel fitted to it and the small bulb fits inside the switch. Ive tried looking but cant find 1 anywhere. My van arrived without a bulb in the switch. Anyone know where i can get 1? thanks.

end your search now, the switch doesnt support a bulb, and honestly, if you cant find the light switch in the dark, it wont be illuminated anyway till you find it and switch it on!

its a trick, the front of the switch isnt able to show light, but the back has a hole for a bulb holder...... methinks the back half of the switch is shared with another switch mold or something.......

Wow that was quick, thanks!!!!
Did wonder how it was supposed to work, thought maybe it had to illuminate for the MOT?

Theoreticly its a type 286 capless bulb like the other dash switch bulbs and it IS shown on ETKA, but as Mocki says it won't fit in the bulb holder (probubly no contacts inside to retain it) and its got nothing to shine through (the picture on the heated screen switch lets light through so it can eluminate, the other switches just have pictures printed in white letters on them) - why's it like that? Who knows! Maybe they only fitted it to early vans or planned to but dropped it before it made production haveing already made all the drawings and molds to surport it?
