Dave
try disconnecting it for the battery , then re-connect and see if that helps
It sometimes works on the ebber if you run out of fuel and need to re start it ( doesnt it Gazza) , other that that do you have an air leak in the fuel line ?
I take it you have fuel and power

Problems with a Webasto
I had similar probs with my HL18D after it came back from an overhaul, if it is the same model, there is I think a resistance wire (yellow) in a loop that seemed to get very hot, problem solved when I cleaned up the contacts, I also cleaned up all the connectors all round.
The resistance wire seems to be important in being 'right' for the ECU.
It is still abit temperamental but works 99% of the time

if the glow plug was breaking down would the fan go but the pump not?? i've just tried dissconnecting it from the battery and still the pump doesn't work! i'm going to moveit in to the back next weekend so when i have got it out i'll have a good clean up of all the contacts! if it still don't work would it do any harm to put the pump on a circuit that comes on as soon as i turn the rest on or would i have to time the pump to come on just after the rest??

not sure about webasto, but ebbers are pulse pumps, and therefore cannot be wired any other way than they are, its just an electro magnet pushing and pulling a diapham to pump, but as i say, not sure about webbos
