1.9DG to alternative, coolant pipes

Post by mal0r »

All,

If I was to consider fitting a replacement engine for the 1.9 water cooled DG, will I be able to do away with the increasingly obsolete coolant-system parts?

In particular the thermostat housing/thermostat and the pump with all it's metal pipes into the block etc?

I've read the sticky FAQ about replacement petrol engine, in particular the Subaru jobs. I noted that in one it says that there is more room in the engine bay and that the coolant pump for one breed of engine pumps upwards. If this is the case, then I'd be able to do away witht he VW coolant pump and therefore HAVE to replace the pipe-work.

Am I likely to get a professional engine change including the engine for anywhere near a grand's worth of beer-tokens?

Cheers

Yes can get rid of all the pipes going everywhere, basically use whats on your new engine and make it work with the front too rear pipes.

A grand, not a chance.
