blank keys

Post by lhd »

Does anyone know if the profile you need is AH for these vans, or where to get the proper blank key from?
I snapped my key in the petrol cap the other day so need a spare.
many thanks.

They are profile "N", you can get them from VW. Can't remember exactly how much but it was between £5-10 per key blank. They'd probubly cut it if you knew the key number but I took them to Timposns. Its the later style keys you get with the black rubber head and skeliton VW badge in the middle rather than the flat pressed metal keys most vans seem to have come with new. Think I've seen some of these early blanks on ebay before, just make sure its profile N if you've got original spec locks. All are less prone to bending than a cheep copy and make a 1 key van feal really well built and german  .
