Electrolux. Wired up to 12v and then 240v. should I hear it running, if so should it be immediate? Is there a switch? Does it need all power supplies connected (incl gas)at same time to make it work. I have no sound whatsoever when I try it! Does it sound as though it is knackered?
Thanks

Hiya meggles,
The electrolux fridge (RM122 / RM123) is an absorbtion fridge. You will not hear it running at all if it is on 12V or mains. A simple electrical test on that fridge is to run it off the mains and see if it gets cooler inside after a few hours.
To run it off the gas, you will need to turn the thermostat knob to 3 (maximum). Hold the thermostat knob in for at least 30 seconds and then repeatedly press the ignitor button until you see a pilot light through the pilot light viewing flap on the bottom left hand side of the fridge. Hold the thermostat knob in for about 10 seconds and release it, the pilot light should stay lit.
I hope this helps.

Testing a Fridge
As comprehensive and helpful as ever. Unfortunately it's in my garage at the mo so testing on gas not an option. I've left it on mains for a while. Thanks a million for advice!
The problem is I am thinking of selling it and don't want to sell anyone a pup!

I suspected that but I'd like to be able to give accurate description if I do decide to sell it. Thanks for info though.
