Hi there chaps,

I filled out my profile a little more. Actually I have been on this forum for a number of years but didn't post evry much as I was learning more than i could actually contribute. My old login has since been disabled.

I am based in the borough of Kinston upon Thames near the A3.

Basically I am buying Syncro from a chap in Yorkshire and I collect it this saturday. I haven't see it in the steel yet.

Anyway the PO removed the prop because he said over a certain speed there was a whining noise coming from it. So he disconeccted it.

I am planning on reconnecting the prop and going to see whats what with it. The current owner tells me the diff and box seem good to him so he has no reason to doubt why the prop was removed.

The current owner said he was told which type of bolts to get for the prop and got them from a specialist bolt supplier with the correct thread etc.. which is helpful.

This is the prop refurber.

I've heard you should take a very close look at the r/h rear driveshaft, only mentioning this for safety's sake...

Prop fatseners:

Bolts: M8x1x25mm (N 010 102 3) [8]

Nuts: M8x1 STOVER(Locking) (N 022 152 1) [8]

I don't understand what you mean? Why should I look closly at the rear driveshaft when we are talking about the proshaft??

I am sorry you have lost me...

Are you talking specifically about the Syncro I am buying? That I should look at the driveshaft?

Sorry please explain. :?:
