smelly smoke on cold start

Post by jpee »

Hi all. This is my first post. I am the new owner of an '86 1915 petrol manual transporter camper. the van is in excellent condition. However on startup from cold i often get white smoke which smells strongly of fuel. This disappears after initial startup and is ok on warm restarts. Any remedies please.
Never sure where I'm going till i get there.

Hi and welcome to the club.

Try giving the old girl a good service, plugs, cap, rotor arm, leads, oil and filter, air & inline fuel filters. It may not cure the problem but at least you'll have a baseline to start a servicing regime from.

All the best, Ian.
