Them disco lights on dashboard...

Post by 4gearwonder »

Hi all,

If anyone can help with this one, would much appreciate any advise as usual please :D

Flexi circuit on dash pod was well dodgy (broken tracks and stuff) and haven't been getting the oil light lately on start up, so managed to get a new one and install.

Thing is, it's still exactly the same - no oil light still! Cleaned all the earth points, every other terminals that could get to ie, fuses, relays etc and now it's gone disco time!

When switch main lights on, full beam light diode comes on when it shouldn't, when switch full beam on, diode goes off! - all kinda in reverse! Also, when switch ignition off and turn main beam on, alternator, glow plug and oil lights now come on.

Was carefull to put everything back and only cleaned contacts one at time, but obviously have up set me van some how?! Do'h!

Anyone ideas, always appreciated amigos.

Cheers. Brian

edoh,

In answer to your questions - been away a few days, so just catching with whats been going on here :D

I managed to get a new flexi circuit from a localish VW garage, but told that stocks are obsolete and when they are gone, that's it I'm afraid!

Did manage to sort things eventually, but made sure I cleaned every connector that I could, inc the castillated earth crowns. The combination of all this seems to have sorted things so far I hoping!

Good luck with it though if you've had similar!
