Right, I'm currently installing an OEM CDL kit to my van (1989 Westy).
The issue is I've got the rear CDL lock unit without its key barrel, so I need remove the key barrel from my existing lock unit......Can anyone please explain how to do it?
PS. Got the front doors in working a treat. Sliding door still work in progress.
The central locking type barrel is different to the normal non-central locking type barrel, differences on the rear of the barrel where the small lever attaches.
Sliding door lock mechanism is different for CL and non CL, but can be got round by making a small lever and welding it to the existing locking lever so you can attach the CL locking motor rod to it. Easier done than explained, get the complete lock mechanism out of the door and it`s easy to see which part needs extending so it pulls and pushes to lock and unlock.
I have got the CL type barrel with the different rear end parts, so I need to know how, if it is possible to remove the 'key' part of the non-CL barrel section and insert into the CL barrel section.
As for the slider mechanism I got the CL mechanism, with said small lever for motor with the bits I bought. The whole kit is basically the whole CL system from a velle complete with wiring looms etc. Unfortunatly rear barrel but without the lock part.
iirc it's just a case of undo the screw on the end and pop the tumbler part out, if not then there will be a very small roll pin to punch out and do the same thing, they are designed to be able to be rekeyed so they will come apart and the lock parts are interchangeable.

They are key-able Aiden, it`s the location "pip" on the end of the barrel that`s different, one is a sort of D shape with a flat on one side, the non-CDL type is, I think from memory, just a flattened oval shape, so the operating lever that fits on the end is different.
