Should I buy this van?? Any help appreciated.

Post it here, if it doesn't fit any of the above.

In one of my first posts I thought that the hole under the windscreen was allowing a lot of water in behind the dash and it was then lying in the cab.

It may be that the water I initially found under the drivers mat was coming in through this plugged hole...

In the week since I bought the bus no more water has appeared under the mat, thankfully.

The windscreen rot is favorite for the water in the cab, especially by the fuse box area.

Get on top of the other rot before it gets too bad. that under wheel arch shot needs to be scraped off and further examinaition carried out. The front panel should be OK once it has been cleaned up/checked and filled/and painted.

Oil leaks are quite common on some T25s especially the push rod tube seals.

I repaired my windscreen, it had the same corrosion as yours. The plug in the floor (same as mine) should be OK, in my opinion, it is not in direct 'splash' area.

Thanks Tex.

There doesn't appear to be much water ingress at the moment, even though there's been some heavy downpours here recently.
There is a little rusting around the base of the fuse box but not much else visible.
Maybe it's just sitting somewhere I can't see
I'll see what greets me when the dash is removed.....

Thanks.

your van is cool.

I should imagine your heater issue is to do with the heat exhangers as it is an Aircooled, I can't help you anymore on that subject as I have a watercooled.

is the number plate yours too?

Thanks clartsonly! 8)

The number plate was on the van already. I'm trying to find out some more of it's history. I think it was re-registered in Ireland and that's where the plate's from. Can anyone confirm that the plate is Irish?

How might I go about piecing together the van's life so far?
I'm going to contact a previous owner for more info but can the engine and/or chassis numbers be used to trace it's history?

Ah...heat exchangers!
Is that what's missing from here? What should connect with that hose/duct?

As always, any help &/or comments appreciated!
