battery question

Post by Cruz »

My started battery seems to be dying so I'm going to replace it.

The current starter battery is marked up as 70amp hour and my leisure battery is 58.

If I were to use the old 70amp/h battery as the leisure battery instead of the current 58 amp/h how much longer would I get out of it when camped? (I use the leisure battery when parked for an internal low level light and the car stereo)

would mostly depend on the volume of the stereo!! however vehicle batteries are designed to give a large ammount of current for a short time and then be charged a leisure batt is designed to give a constant voltage for long periods, your vehicle batt will loose voltage after a short while and may not give enough voltage to run lights and stereo!!

the louder you have your stereo the more power it uses!!

Can find a leisure battery small enough to fit under the seat and the 58 amp hour car battery that I am using at the moment gives me a good 8 hours of solid stereo and lighting
