Idle issues

Post by maxhxc »

Yesterday, quite randomly, my van decided to stop idling, or if it did, VERY low. I had this problem on my mk1 golf and fixed it rather quickly with some carb cleaner on the little valve thing with a hole the size of a pin prick (i know what i mean). Just wondered if that doesn't fix it, what else it could be?

Thanks

DG engine with Pierburg carb...
has it suddenly started doing it?
Has anyone been working in the engine bay?

could be a few items..
crap in the carb blocking the jet.. check the fuel filter near the fuel tank to see whats in there...
vac pull down unit or any of the vac tubes not connected/split etc on the carb..
dizzy vac advance not working/tube hanging off..
