Early caliper help please.

Can anyone tell me if the girling and ATE early calipers are interchangable and do they take the same pads and fitting kit etc.

I was asking in TMS about exchange recon calipers and was told both makes are listed for my 83 van. I can't tell what mine are as any casting marks have corroded away, but I think I can make out the audi style 4 rings on the outside? They didn't have any pictures or diagrams to compare them. Does it matter which I order if I get a pair?

Any help welcomed.

You can tell the calipers apart by the different spreader spring.

Register on Vagcat.com and take a look, both types are drawn and you can decide which one you have.
