No you just have to have skinny fingers and some patience.

I didn't bother testing the old ones to find out if there were any still working I just put in four new ones and it was all better.

i remember thinking the next time i do mine im going to remove the injector pump.getting to the one closest to the bulkhead is a right pain...

before you replace them, check the fuseable link in the elecric box, under the relay, its common for them to corrode and blow, or not contact, leaving with no out put to the glow plugs

just remove the injection pipes, 17mm nuts.
Glow plugs seem tolast 50K miles at least but are cheap at Partco etc.
check for corrosion on all terminals at this age of van

a bit of sticky tape on the ratchet spanner helps too................
trust me :lol:

IT is fiddly but can be done with the aid of a woman or man with slim fingers
