Might grab his attention if it fails and he drives off the 4 poster

In the 'old days' they'd stick a GV9 'Unsafe to drive' notice on it and you'd have to have it fixed there and then or trailer it away.

It's a P.O.P. job to do anyway .... took me and Mr T about 30 minutes at RTTH3 ... helps if you've badly arthritic or broken fingers though

Yep, as said above. Have taken mine off in the past and the whole resouvior is for brakes and clutch but when a leak occurs in the clutch cylinder, it will only empty half way due to the fact that the clutch feed pipe is half way up the resouvior. This keeps your brakes running even if the whole clutch system explodes!

Ps. I did a cheeky repair for the rubber piston in the clutch cylinder when I didn't have a spare (have got one on standby now though!). I put a single ring of copper wire from a household ring main cable inside the rubber piston, this spaced it out a little more and has been going for 5 years now! Like I said, got one on standby though!

Sounds like the perfect fix , I'm thinking you put the ring around the rubber piston so that it sits like a 'piston ring' kinda, which has the effect of tightening the grip.

How did you get it in, was it easy?

Ring went inside the rubber to ease it out a little, dead easy really!
