Hi,
I have to change the head gasket on my 1.7d. Can i remove the head with it in situ ? Or do i have to remove the engine ?
I will be getting it skimmed before i replace the head.
Is it worth doing any other jobs (like tappets and valves) while its off ?
Thanks
Ringo

yep,can do it without removing the block,be prepared to drill retap exhaust manifold studs, with head off reseat valves and fit new valve stem oil seals head will more than likely be cracked so get it cracked tested, most heads have cracks and run ok but best get it tested,cj.
bought some real off roaders!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot cj.
It's never easy is it!
Who does "crack testing" - and if it is, do you sell new heads ?
