Exhaust Hangers

Will my van fail a MOT if the silencer does not have the hanging brackets and straps attached?
Also will it harm or damage the exhaust system?

yes, it will fail. all exhaust hangers/straps must be fitted and secure.
Also, you rist fracturing the exhaust cast parts adn streesing bolts, pies, ect.
