Bmw seats into westy?

Post by b1llyf1sh »

I have a 1981 Westy, LHD with 2 swivelling seats and the standard steering wheel. I have some seats out of a 1985 BMW E30 3 Series which I was wondering if I could fit. Has anyone done this or seen it done? If so, is it nice and easy and will I still be able to see where I'm going?
Thanks in advance
Jason.

IMHO as long as the new seats have runners, and they are not too narrow/wide to fit onto the swivel plates you should be fine. Are you welding them yourself??

like mrhutch says, but also check height of seat compared to your van seats. It's all about keeping seating position close to stock.... or custom to your and other driver's needs.

can't agree more.. I ground off the VW rails to get another inch lower when I fitted my TT front seats.. the drivers is still a little high though.
