Post by mushroom »

how hard to replace ?
Haynes manual says VW garage only
Is it not just a case of grinding off old weld and spot welding new ones in ?

Fairly easy to do if you have a grinder/welder.. dont weld a great gob on it.. melts the rubber inside!!
Need a way to press the bush in (big vice and a bit of tube!!)
Tricky part is setting it up right after... you need someon like mr Bricky who knows his onions..

Assuming the camber is OK just now, mark the eccentric washers against the swing arm before removing the top pivot and setup to the same marks when you reassemble and the camber should be fine.
