Posted a while back about not being able to get golf GTI steering wheel off - well it was botched on and had a load of epoxy etc. around it hence being unable to remove easy.
Got a mate at a garage to help - only prob van steering wheel will only go on upside down... And the horn is on all the time!!!
He's suggested upside down wheel is OK and that horn could be a dash switch whcih is OK solution - though lacks aesthetic appeal (and let's face it that's a BIG appeal of VWs!)
Anyone else had this prob/suggest solution/ideas/second hand column?
THoughts appreciated.

Re Upside down steering wheel etc
Sorry to hear of your problem.
Perhaps I should have mentioned on your previous steering wheel posting, the Golf wheel I had fitted to my Van knacked the horn contacts on the column top, I had to wire up the horn via a Lucas type push button on the face of the dash cowling.
This has been fitted for 3 years now and has had no problem regarding MOTs etc.
Can you not chip off the bodge on your column and fit your VW wheel the correct way up??
