Can a coolant return pipe be used as a feed pipe?

Can a coolant return pipe be used as a feed pipe?

Post by keytouch »

Moved this question over to Tech from general.

Does anyone know if a second genuine VW return pipe could be used as a feed pipe? Are they similar enough in shape and size?
As VW is telling me that the feed pipe is obsolete, and even JustKampers only sells return pipes.

Unless anyone knows where I can purchase a feed pipe from engine to radiator for a 1983 1.6 CS Diesel?

It's just that they have different part numbers

I'll wait til the one pipe I ordered arrives then have a crawl under the van to see how it compares, if close enough then i'll order another one
