hi vwvirgin let me how you get on with the windows if you are going to fit them yourself,i did ring paul (leisure windows) up end of last year to order two sliders and two fixed windows for my panel van quoted me £346 all in with rubber templates vat delivery just could not make up my mind on how tinted i want them he does 55% and 15% and of course clear if you were going down the custom van road full tint would be best cant see the point of tinted side windows as the front and back of the van has clear glass might look a bit odd ,im ringing up soon to order think its 2-3 weeks for them to be made and delivered.

Hi Camper 2, will let you know how I get on, have I think, decided not to use them as seem to expensive, The van I have is part converted so usable as a camper, has a 1.8 golf gti engine linked to a type 4 5 speed gear box so am at the moment like you deciding whether to go down the straight camper route or to go for tinted all round, going to enjoy using it for a bit first I think. Will keep you posted .

i did exactly what you want to do with my van, sliding door and panel across from it
I got sliding windows from a rotten caravelle and inserted them with conversion rubbers. works a treat and do not leak like some people lead me to believe
Before:

Nice one George thats what I want, Have been told that you can't fit windows from a factory fitted camper into a panel van, guess you have proved that wrong. Mine is white at the moment but gonna go green eventually I think windows first though, will post some pictures when I get time. Anybody reading this who can add to the window question I would be really grateful. Again many thanks to you all.

I was told the same and went scratching my head for a long time trying to figure out an alternative (leisure window where too expensive for my budget), then I came across a old van converter here in Ireland and he assured me that it works fine. He did it with his own van in the 80's and the van is still going strong!!
And I have had no problems with mine

fitting original vw windows to a panel van is fine just kampers do a window fitting kit for a panel van think thats £100+vat dont know if you can buy them seperatly then you have got to buy the second hand windows they are going for £40+del on ebay so that lot will be close on £200 and your proberbly find the windows scratched to buggery and the frames need painting,i thought the price for the leisure drive windows was ok ive worked out what im doing with my t25 now will be cheaper as well only fitting the middle two windows now a sliding window above the hob and plain window in the sliding door both in dark tint and going to tint the rear window myself so it dont look odd totale cost is £167 for windows and rubber plus vat and delivery so price wont be that different from second hand i hope, im phoning up tommorrow to order them will keep every one posted on the price fitting of them
