URGENT !!! Rear Coil Springs

Post by FlowerPower »

Does anyone know if a 1986 1.9DG would have regular or heavy duty rear coil springs? Apparently there are 2 different sorts. How would I tell the difference?

The heavy duty suspension was an option that very few used to order...

all the others are pretty much the same I think... where you getting it from? VW aint cheap.. and any aftermarket ones are 1 rate..

if a "full on" camper then it wont make much difference..

there should be some blobs of paint on the springs.. if they are not too rusty.. the colour and how many tells you which ones they are..

Thanks TMT, you're a star!!

My local garage is fitting it for me (about £85). Luckily there's a lad working there who is a bit of a T25 freak.

think they were about £40 each from GSF and it isnt a big job to do if the shock bolts are not rusted to hell...
