Overhauled Viscous coupling

Post by mikeytar3 »

Ebay Germany item number 270211440568

This appears to be an advert. for overhauled VC's but my German is not up to proper translation. Is there anyone who can? Is this worth following up?

...and he wants your old one in exchange.

He doesn't really say how he refurbishes them or how many he's already done (that are still out there and working)

I'd stick with one of the professional sources (Buschschmiede etc)

The auction finished with a price of 351 euro, and aparently can be DHL'ed for 23 euro. to and from uk. However i have no information on how many he's done or how good they are. If I find out any more I'll post, otherwise let me know of any other opportunities to stop being 2 wheel drive!

I haven't looked at this particular one but DIY recon VCs do crop up on German Ebay.I quizzed one guy about guarantees and what fluid he used and he got pretty defensive ('nothing in life is guaranteed...blah,blah).Given the price they fetch I reckon it's probably safer to stick with a reputable supplier.
