I have, and I'm more than satisfied. Lifetime guarantee, what more can you ask for. Fit and (hopefully) forget! :D

I've had one for 12 months now with no problems at all. Fit and quality are excellent plus a lifetime guarantee, you can't go wrong.

Having just had a fruitless debacle with LA Performance (sadly Lee's public relations skills leave something to be desired  ) and having it pointed out to me that the one they show on their site appears to have a smaller oil filter fitted to allow for clearance  and that's without the 2.1 oil cooler being there! I've decided it's a JP for us too.

Exhaust

Post by Bosun20 »

Just fitted an LAPerformance exhaust to a 2.1 petrol.
Fit is really good and neat.
They sent a smaller filter with it and no problem with the cooler fitted.
It`s a shame they don`t supply a fitting kit with it.
You get 1 gasket.
It`s got a nice sound to it as well.

I also bought an LAPerformance exhaust for my 1.9 petrol but did not get an oil filter with it and have not had chance to fit it yet. Do you know the part number of the filter in case I need to fit the smaller one?

There was no mention of that, you had to spot it for yourself. Also did you get a written lifetime guarantee ? On the phone the proprietor implied that there wouldn't be one, and that they were as yet untested.

Hope it's all OK for you .... Oh and wellcome to the Club BTW

Sorry for the delay.
Part no. for the oil filter is 030 115 561 AB.
Not sure what it is off, haven`t had chance to find out yet.
You will also need 6 8mm bolts 35mm in length. 6 8mm nuts and 12 8mm washers. 3 10mm bolts 35mm in length and 6 10mm washers and 3 10mm nuts.
If your replacing the bolts into the heads these are 8mm about 25/30mm in length.
You also need the gaskets for the pipe joins and onto the heads.

I've now got our JP exhaust, it's a very nice looking piece of kit AND comes complete with a full assemby kit and the gaskets to fit it. You don't need a different oil filter and you have the assurance that everyone whose ever had a bracket or anything break has always had a free replacement.

Re the LA Performance system ..... it's quite obvious that they designed the exhaust after the early stylee DG system, forgeting the oil cooler on the 2.1 and some later DGs. Also I still don't see how the silencer is supported and from speaking to the owner would be very concerned indeed about getting a refund.

I just hope the people on here who've bought one don't end up regretting it.
