Post by horlix »

Hi guys, Ive recently found the front crossover pipe on my 91 vanagon has a crack in in it and requires a new one, ive phoned round the usual suspects and the prices are ridiculous and i fear they may not know what part they are quoting for, this is the part i need

Does anyone know a good uk supplier who can get this part please.

Thanks

This is the one for a 1.9 (with the warm air take-off) If you have a 2.1 (or can't be ar$ed with the pointless warm air take-off) then you can have this instead :-

Best be prepared for tears if the system hasn't been off for a few years

Oh and BTW it don't make a cent's difference whether it's off a Westie or a Screwfix special panel van, same thing.

 Ian.

Thanks Ian, ive just got off the phone to Just Kampers and im going to go for the second one you suggest....there seems to be a big issue with the"well its an import sir so your gonna have to pay though the nose sir". Well for £58 and alot of time and penetration oil i'll have a pop myself rather than let the idiot i spoke to at kwik fit do it....and i quote " to be honest mate id get one of them stainless ones, my mate does em and they sounds great see....makes a right good rumble at about 3000rpm".....ladies and Gents i rest my case.........

I don't know if you've bought the front half yet but I've got a spare one in my garage having spent the weekend fitting a replacement engine on my van. I think it's in good condition - I'll have a look in the morning.

Your's if you want it, pick up from Junct 12 M5.
I'm sure that rust wasn't there last week! Rust blue slowly going yellow panel by panel - And five years later, Orange!
