Ddick Turpin, at least he wore a mask....

Post by Fritz »

Now I know the price of gas has jumped just a bit in the last 12 months but I was stunned into silence when my closest gas supplier charged me 18.99 GBP for a 907 re-fill.

I understand you will pay more for the smaller bottles like the 907 which for us will just about last a season running a cooker and a fridge (when I remember to turn it on) '
But a 4.5KG bottle can be made to fit where the 907 sits and I'm sure these are better value.

But what price am I expected to pay for a 4.5 CALOR re-fill ? and are the prices similar around the country ?

Regards

Fritz,,,,,,,,,,

PS , I was too afraid to ask the price of a 4.5 just in case he wanted the shirt off my back along with my wallet.....
One day you will find me,,

The bigger the better in gas bottles. I bought a Calor red 6kg for around £16 before Christmas; a couple of weeks ago a 13kg cost me £21. I know which is better value!

Most regular caravanners use 13kg bottles, even though they don't fit in the lockers (mine does!), for economy - they stand them outside the van.

A 6kg is a reasonable compromise and fits in the cupboard under the sink in my camper.

Calor cylinder prices can be found at www.calor.co.uk, click on the "Order lpg" link to see prices.

I know it's not the question that you've asked, but just for info / discussion, we paid £13.95 locally for a 907 re-fill last week. Last Sept. (I think it was) we paid £18 for one when we were away at Chester!

I paid the same price just last weekend at the campsite, I'm a camping beginner but I thought that was extremely expensive.
