red battery light ?

Post by dublicious »

Lo Guys,

Hope all are well :) I have noticed a red light on the dash by the battery signal. I am just wondering are there any vw manuals explaining the lights on the dash as I don't have one? I would imagine the battery is on its way out as it is a slow starter sometimes and have seen many threads on here how to test, so no worries there :)

Take care,

Jamie

that usually means that tthe alternator is not charging, you'll have to get a volt meter and test accross the battery with the engine running, if it is more than 13v the alt is charging but it could just have a worn charge indicator connection!

might just need a good clean and refit type effort!

would be pretty cool anyway to have a copy of the manual that describes the dash lights and probable causes, haynes doesn't seem to list unless I am being a dumb ass
