1y alternator mount help

Post by wookey »

Hi guys,

Im a little desparate and stuck now without transport .. (no direct train to work means its about 3 hrs by pub transport rather than the 40 mins by van! wheres that violin! :) )

Anyhoo .. I've sheared a bolt on my alternator bracket. I need a replacement but cant find a replacement of mine..

The big spring is the tensioner etc.

However all I can find is diesels with these type of tensioners. annoyingly they are all 1y non ac same age etc etc (note this is a pic from a petrol one and only to illustrate the difference in styles)

Does anyone know if these type can bolt directly on the 1y and work (obviously with a new belt) I didnt want to take the one i found off as its had a head on and getting in there will require cutting most the front end off! thanks

Thanks
