Propex Compact 1600
I have a Compact 1600, i dont have a thermostat at the moment and want to get it working. I have a 4 wire version, black/red - 12v supply, orange goes to the thermostat, and purple wire (30sec purge 12v supply??).
Can anyone tell me how to connect up the orange and purple wire?

Steve,
here's link to manual dl http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/techn ... m#download
maybe you already have it. Didn't see anything about how to fire it without thermostat.
Good Luck

Been doing some testing tonight - on the kitchen worktop yay.
Wiring as follows:
12+ - Red
12- - Black (requires above 12v ish or it will report low voltage cut out)
Orange wire - Connect to 12+ supply to fire the unit up (if you have a thermostat - (not the propex one, a house type) connect the orange wire to this and run another to the 12v supply - otherwise install a switch in the same manner).
Purple wire - If you connect this to the 12+ supply it will run the fan in the unit. I beleive this wire needs to be connected through a 30 second delay timer so the unit can cool down and purge when it switches off). Im going to make up a delay board and have this run like this.
Just got to fit it to the van now!

Got a thermostat from B&Q for £9.99
Used 8mm pipe and fittings, equiv. to 5/16"
The purple wire turned out to run the fan only, just connect through a switch to 12v+.
could you post a wiring diagram of that set up and...
the B&Q thermostat, how would I find that in the store..is there a name for it?
Or a product ref. number?

The thermostat is 9.99, i binned the box today so i dont know the number, however there was only on for this price, check it say 2 wire version on the box.
I'm putting the switches in a small box from maplin and mounting that next to the thermostat.
Been testing it out today, had it run for a good 10mins works ok. Anyone else with one of these is the fan supposed to run on after the thermostat reaches temperature?
