Hi I have asked someone about what to do about my old knackered engine and they have asked is it CU or CT - I'm so sorry but what does this mean - my van in a 1980 Aircooled 1600 at mo engine is in bits so please don't say look at it if it has this then......

Hi,

i think you have the CT motor CT is the engine classification code for the 1600. CU is for the 2000.

if its got 1 carb its a CT if it appears to have 2 carbs its a CU,cj.
bought some real off roaders!!!!!!!
