oil temperature dipstick and gauge wiring

can anyone help please, i`ve just aquired an dipstick sender unit and oil temp gauge. the problem is it has no wiring or wiring diagram, and i`m confused (not hard) there is 2 terminals on top of the dipstick with no lables. on the gauge there is an 's' an '+' and an '-' which speak for them selves i think, but it the wiring issue from dipstick that has me stuck. can anyone please help.

one terminal should be connected to the chassis the other one to the guage,have a close look at the terminals [with a magnifing glass] as on mine one is marked "g".
