Smell of petrol....
Hi...I'm getting a strong smell of petrol when I restart the engine when it's hot...usually after a short trip... I've checked the fuel lines and the inline filter and they're fine......think it must be something to do with the carb or choke...any suggestions?

Hi
We had similar heavy petrol smell that was obvious when stationary or stuck in slow moving traffic.
It turned out to be one of the over flow pipes that go to the expansion tanks near/by the wheel arches. I had previously been applying waxol
and think i disturb the connection with a brush etc. Reconnected and presto, problem was solved.
That's was our experience with this one, but someone else might be able to offer another cause, but check out this area, might be the cause though?
Good luck with it though!
