How do I remove the plastic trim/console that sits in the middle under the dash?
I want to fit a new carpet and can't work out how to get the thing out.
Also, has anyone carpeted their bus using low-cost cord type carpet? If so how did you get with the Driver/Passenger area (i.e with regard to the shape/tunnel etc)?
Thanks
Titus

Titus...if you mean the one that sits behind the gear stick and goes up to the dash, and feeds warm air to the cab....then mine just slides in and out. It can be a bit sticky, especially if someone had issues with it keeping sliding out and put sommat sticky in it to hold it in.....
pulls out straight and level towards you. IIRC there are four runners to line up when putting it back....two full length ones at each edge, and shorter ones in the middle.
If you are still stuck this afternoon, I will take a picture of mine that now comes out real easy!

the red ring shows the cath which is present and correct. If you copy and paste the picture into paint, you will see that the plastic is shaped like a small triangle with a notche that locates behind the duct.
the slide rails on the heater ducts:

To get mine off I have to hold it each side, where I can get my fingers round it, and give it a bit of a wiggle and tug....sometimes it comes out easier one side first. then to put it back, Ilocate it and puch in....and small thump (gently) locks it into position.
