front heater/windscreen demister not working, faults?

Post by fergus77 »

Hey all,

finally got my plastic water pipes in the van and running, so now onto my next niggly problem.

The heater in the front of the cab that supplys warm air to the driver/passenger, and demists the windscreen isn't working (Diesel camper). Now i know these things have a series resister in them, so my question is,

could this be why the thing isn't working?

Is there any other known faults that people have come across?

All help appreciated peeps :D

Do you mean the heater fan motor?

have you checked the switch and the fuse?

Most likely the fan motor siezed. VW put the bearings for the fan motor right in the main air flow and it catches all the crud and damp air from outside.

checked the fuse and everything seem fine.

Is it a pain in the a** to get at the motor to free it up?
