Still Smoking

My 1.6 TD is still smoking when I accelerate, the smoke is white, I have changed all 4 injectors and glow plugs, the pump timimg has also been checked, it is definately over fueling, any ideas

Overfueling usually produces black smoke, low combustion temperatures makes white smoke (usually)

White smoke is comustion temp too low could be several causes. It is defo not over fuelling. Was the pump timing checked by someone experienced? and what was it at? Have nvalve clearances been checked? Any coolant loss? Bad starting? Oil consumption? Fuel filter been drained recently?

Cheers guys for the replies, starts no problem, normal oil consumption, timing done by diesel engineer, at a loss with this one,

I would try advancing timing slightly.

Don't forget at this time of year when the general air temperature is in single figures steam from the combustion process will be more evident, just like it is after any cold start........

True but diesels love cold air and effeincy goes up big time which will reduce smoke.

In a turbo effeincy goes up a bit!
regardless of effeincy, the engine is still cold at startup so smoke will condense on the cold parts regardless. white smoke means cold somthing.....

Tom when I was behind you on Waterville Road (Monday morning) the smoke chuffing out of your exhaust was black.

Cheers for that Nicola, I had only just started van and it was cold, once warmed up it tends to be black, will have to get someone to run behind me when I get back and see what colour it is,
