What model eber?

Post by Hermen »

Can anyone with a west joker circa 1988 tell me what model there eber is. My eber died a couple of months ago, made a bit of a racket for a couple of weeks then died. (sound familiar?) I have followed links on the forums from other posters on ebers to manuals which seem not to resemble what I have. Can anyone tell me what the standard model was fitted in 1988?

Under the bed, my eber is a rectangle shape with the black plastic cover. The ones that I seem to find manuals for are much thinner and less 'boxy' (scuse terminology)

eber is diesel.

Leisure battery charger? Scuse me ignorance, but if I open the rock roll bed, on the left hand side is the black box, which I have allways assumed to be the eber, because underneath that is the vent where the heat comes from. Is it therefore the case that the 'whole' of the eber is under the van, with only a duct to the vent inside the van?

Sounds like the original Eber has been removed and a more modern "bread-tin" type fitted, lot more compact unit than the old one. Will probably be a D2, should be a silver label on the side of it with the type and spec etc.
If it`s been done right it will be venting through the floor of the `van, you`ll see two pipes underneath, both approx 1" diamater, and a very small pipe next to them feeding the fuel in.
Keep it real.

You don't mean the battery charger do you which is a big black box to the left under the rear seat?
It should have a D2L originaly and that is under the van sliding door side.
about the size of a small suitcase. the majority of the heater is under the van as you say.
hope this helps.

Great help. Thanks! Now that I know where the thing is, I have ordered a glow plug as a first thing to try. Does anyone know if the ebbers need servicing and who does it?
