34 pict 5 carb

Post by hi_tower »

My van (1.9 df engine) hasnt been running too well, hesitating when I try to accelerate and stumbling when I try to rev etc. Ive been having a look round the carb, replaced all the perished bits of vac hose. One thing I noticed was when I sucked on the tube that goes into the throttle damper it doesnt hold vacuum. Is this right or do I have a leaky diaphragm in there? Any info would be great as Im unsure what the throttle damper does.

Try blanking the vac pipe and see if it helps..

Have you also checked the vac advance unit on the Dizzy??

Could be worth getting a DG manifold and carb assy, to replace it with...

The vac unit on the dizzy holds vacuum and moves ok. Its just the throttle damper unit I was wondering about.
