the cost of a lpg conversion is about £1000 all in with VAT

SO HOW MANY MILES WOULD YOU HAVE TO COVER TO GET THAT BACK ???

It would cost about 1000 Litres of petrol at X miles per litre to do a conversion.

It would cost about 1000 litres of gas at about the same mpg as petrol to do a conversion but at half the price

About £600 or 600 ltrs of petrol or 1200 ltrs of gas.

Now does that make sense ?

how much do you spend on petrol a week?
put half that in your piggy bank each week...
everytime you put £50 of petrol in you could only be paying £25 in gas for the same miles, you know how long it would take you, if you know how much you spend a week on petrol now.

Mine paid for itself in 24 fill-ups (3 odd years ago) ..... but then again gas's gone up BUT guess what ... petrol's gone up more

to get your 1000 quid back with gas being 50ppl cheaper will take 2000 litres. since our vans do around 4 miles per litre (just under 20mpg) you will have your money back after around 8000 miles.
since i only use my bus for camping it would probably take me 2.5 years to see the benefit. but anyone who uses their bus as their only transport would easily get it back within a year.
for that reason i will continue taking the hit with petrol and retain me wardrobe

how many miles have you done in the van since you've had it Julian? bet it must be 8000 by now, could be running on half price fuel now mate

suprisingly jed i've only done around 3000

but we were both ill this summer and missed both the bashtie and rtth, then missed the liecester do and a couple more cos the mot ran out whilst we were ill.

hoping to do a few more this year but due to work etc not enough to warrant the conversion

if i get a spare grand tho i'll have it done

Our's took 24 fill-ups BUT gas was 36p/ltr and petrol went up to £1.00/ltr the week after, so there was a bigger difference. Plus using The Bus for work hastened up the payback date no end.

I'd recommend it to anyone, and no, I'm not on commission

The only thing I'd do differently would be to have the biggest engine/leisure tank available and to run the cooker,fridge and a propex off it as well.

Still, ya live and learn.

would this be advisable
surly gas from the pump is more expensive than from the bottle ????

Forgive me for being ignorant, but is that possible to run all of them from the same tank? As I said i'm new to this LPG lark and if/when I go down the road then I'll do the lot in one if possible. Would save on storage /weight as I normally carry two camping gaz bottles, although Im scared to leave the fridge running on gas overnight when sleeping in the van??

Help please guys.
