Hi
Right need help, since i removed the dash a while ago my horn hasn't worked properly, randomly going off when u turn the wheel. so went to fix it and think its the steering wheel earthing so moved the key barrel down and should be fine. However doesn't work at all now and neather do my brake lights or reverse light and i think there on the same feed. No fuses have gone?????? thought it might be the main relay but not sure????

Not sure whats going on with the other lights as I don't think they are in the same area or curcuit (may depend on age of van, what is yours?), but for the horn...

Prise the centre out of the steering wheel, undo the nut and remove the steering wheel. You should see the big brass horn ring contacts on the underside of the wheel and contacts on the colum. I bet its worn quite a bit and some thin bits round the edge are flakeing off. When you turn the wheel these will randomly break off and set the horn off, once disloged who knows what they'll do - remove loose bits, should be fine again.

mmm, i'll try that, the vans a 86 and going off haynes i think there on the same circuit but don't hold me to it :lol:

brake lights.
the pressure switch that amkes the brake lights light when you push the peddle is above your knees, has a two pin connector, or two single spades, in the master cylinder.Check you have two wires connected.

Reversing lights.
The switch for the reversing lights is earth switched, in the gearbox, so if this is connected to you fiddling in the dash, its a feed prob, not earth
