Ignition switch stupid question

Here is one for you buffs out there . Had my gas converted by gasure and a fine job they did of it however they struggled starting it on gas due to the ignition switch .

If you turn it to the crank position it turns over fine however it only fires when you return the switch to position two. Have checked the wiring on the plug its fine . the switch is black have been told that T25 ignition switch should be white . Could I have the wrong switch .

Any help would be welcome. Steve has offered to fix it next time its in but he is such a busy bloke dont want to take to much of his time .

Its great driving the van without having to watch the fuel guage dropping down . I just look at my four green lights and smile now

Try cranking it and checking for voltage on the black wire, it should be live when cranking.

got 12v on the black when cranking
12v on the black/yellow when in position two zero volts when cranking

Sounds like thats your problem then! While youre cranking, theres no power going to the ignition system.

is the ignition the black/yellow or just the black

black/yellow is not supposed to be live when cranking, the lpg control unit needs to get its power fro the black wire.

in that case then the wiring is correct at the switch end . The black is live during cranking and the black/yellow isnt .

The voltage on the black wire drops to 9.8v during cranking the engine fires when you let the key go . It must be that the battery voltage rises to 12v when the key is returned to position 2 giving enough power to fire it up.

It sounds to me like lpg is wired into black/yellow wire, it should be connected to the black one. 9.8v is not abnormal.

The LPG is not wired into the black/yellow wire but into the leisure cicuit (black) wire as always, no second guessing here, that iginition switch was checked when it was here and when in hte cranking position there is no ignition circuit until it returns, I have it booked in for repair and although the owner claims to have had a new igntion switch I suspect it is at fault.

Van going great at the mo thanks to your conversion . Funny not having to worry about the petrol bill . Driven it all weekend and still got 2 green lights.

That stupid smile you saw on my face on Friday is still there managed rault hill in 3rd never ever done that before

See you next weekend when I drop it off for the leisure gas system
