Head gasket DJ. Where from?

Post by SyncroRich »

Hi guys, just a quick question about where to get parts for my van.
I'm after a head gasket set, I've seen them on jk's website but do they come with the sealant or not?
I understand the sealant can be expensive is it better to get it with the gaskets as a package?

I'm also after a clutch kit. Is my clutch going to be the same as a standard 2.1 van as mine is a syncro?

I've made that mistake withe the exhaust in the past. The forward section kinks over the rock bars.

Any tips on both jobs?

I bought a complete engine gasket set from german swedish and french (no sealent) think if I had to do it again I'd go for a genuine VW one, belive you can buy a set from them to do just the heads (inc sealents)

either way you need two types of sealent black for the rubber water jacket gasket and yelllow for the head nuts (see below)

black sealent D 000 400 (01)

yellow sealent AKD 456 000 02

E D I T to add,

Gasket set for cylinder head 025 198 012 B
Syncro 16" doka 2.1i
